Japan Series - The Old and the New

Fashion among the young in Japan can be edgy and funky, outrageous and flamboyant.  Occasionally, I bumped into females clad in traditional costumes, and they created a different kind of visual stimulus.  What is striking is to see the younger generation resplendent in their kimonos, striking a pose in public places such as train stations, tourists spots, etc.

At the shrines, I passed by a wedding procession and some Shinto priestesses
.

The very young themselves are often dressed smartly by their parents.  Here a pair of young girls captured my eyes in their contrasting black and white outfits, including boots, handbags and headgear. They were almost doll like.
