Fleeting memories of Kista, Sweden

It was a quick trip in and out of Kista, dubbed Sweden's Silicon Valley.  The Arlanda Airport at Stockholm looks spanking new, all glass and wood.  As travellers walk from the arrival gate to the terminal building, the walls are lined with photos and names of famous Swedes, with centre place at the exit given to Abba and Bjorn Borg, right next to the portrait of the reigning monarch and his Queen.

Kista, about 14 km from Stockholm, is home to a host of telecommunications and IT companies.  The greeness and cleanliness of the place are a refreshing change to the UK cityscape.  But where have all the people gone?

Here are a few images from Kista.

Eeerily quiet corridors during
summer holiday season
Striking sculpture
Emphasis on ears - for listening
Food for thought - SEK 275 (£24) for this dish.
It came with a Ryvita type of crisp bread
that tastes like cardboard
